A total of 25 candidates at Dibuoro Secondary School in Siaya County whose KCSE results were withheld due to alleged exam irregularities have appealed the decision and will sit for the second exam in 30 days.
According to the latest updates, Siaya County’s director of education, Nelson Sifuna, allowed the affected candidates to appeal the Kenya National Examination Council’s (KNEC ) decision to revoke their results.
Sifuna said in a statement that “they will re-sit the exam to get the result of what happened at the time the KCSE exam was being conducted.”
He, however, declined to say whether the examination council would conduct the examinations at the school or other center as the candidates would pay for the examinations.
In March, while the KCSE exams were underway, 52 people at Dibuoro Secondary, including students, teachers and exam officers, spent two days in the cells of the Siaya police station after being found with allegedly mobile phones containing duplicates. Leaked exam papers.

The KNEC-Kenya National Examination Council has announced that the fate of more than 400 students who were suspended for irregularities in the 2021 KCSE results will be known in May 2022.
These candidates were barred from accessing their results on the KNEC website and via SMS.
According to KNEC CEO David Njang’ere, investigations into the school’s irregularities will be completed within 30 days. The council will then send a preliminary report to Education CS, George Magoha.
