Road accidents are a major challenge before the transport ministry. However, there has been grief and tears in the families after the passing of five people in the tragic road accident.
This happened after the 14-seater vehicle lost control and crashed on the Kisii-Nyamira road. The horrific incident however has attracted many people to the spot to rescue the passengers.
However, some people sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Apart from this, the bodies of the dead have been sent to the morgue.
In fact there is one such incident which has created concern in the area as vehicular movement slows down around that road.
The security department, however, has visited the spot for confirmation. More investigation is currently underway to find out the main cause of the accident.
However, the government should establish measures to reduce road accidents in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport. This is to adopt more safety measures while using public roads.
