Most elementary school teachers have completed their studies and obtained diplomas and some degrees. The recent move by the Teacher Service Commission to teach in secondary schools has made them laugh.
TSC Boss Dr. Nancy Macharia says she has been given posting letters to teach in Kenya’s secondary schools today.
Dr. Nancy Macharia confirmed today that letters have been issued to eligible teachers and they are expected to report to new stations soon.
Macharia further states that the teachers who have been deployed are qualified and meet all the requirements for teaching in secondary schools.
She says teachers have a bachelor’s degree in education and are therefore suitable for teaching in secondary school.
The move by the My Teachers Service Commission to deploy primary school teachers in secondary schools will be very helpful as it will help alleviate the shortage of teachers which has been felt for many years.
