After refusing to participate in the Teachers Development Program TPD, the Kenya union of post primary education teachers (KUPPET) national office and a few branches executive secretaries face being removed from the teachers’ payroll.
Sabala Inyeni, Samuel Orwasa, Robert Miano, and William Lengoyiap are the executive secretaries who have rejected.
Since October 20, 2021, the national office has failed to pay branch union dues that were due to officials.
For objecting about the disputed TPD program, branch leaders were removed and terminated from their Union payroll positions. Teachers who refused TPD were fired and their salaries were taken away.”

On March 3, 2022, legislators made the decision to end the TPD program. Legislators urged that the TSC and the government develop a plan and pay for the program’s expenditures.
