KUCCPS , Kenya Universities and College Central Placement Service has officially opened its portal to allow candidates for the 2021 KCSE exam to start improving their university and college choices.
A total of 144,466 KCSE 2021 candidates with C + score are eligible to apply for degree program in 70 universities across the country.
Friday at Thika Girls Karibaribi Secondary School in Kiambu County, Prof. Magoha assured the 2021 KCSE candidates that those who have obtained minimum university entry grade will also consider applying for courses in TVET institutes and teacher training colleges (TTCs).
KUCCPS Placement Urgency will admit students who get C plain in 32 government primary teacher training colleges. KCSE candidates from 2021 and earlier years, including non-citizens, can apply on this TTC.
Candidates who had earlier sat for KCSE between the years 2000 and 2021 and got C (plain) and above marks are eligible to apply for placement in Primary TTC.
In addition, secondary TTCs offering three diplomas – Kibabii, Lugari and Kagumo – will also admit students under the competency-based curriculum system through KUCCPS.
Professor Magoha also noted that the application portal will be open from May 20, 2022 to June 2, 2022.
The remaining 671,415 Kenyan students with an average grade up to C-E in the 2021 KCSE exam are eligible for diploma, craft certificate and artisan certificate courses offered at 190 government institutions.
According to KUCCPS , the overall minimum entry requirement for diploma courses is C – (minus). D (plain) for craft certificate courses; And e for artisan certificate courses.
Cabinet Secretary Prof. Magoha encouraged students of C + and above who have done technical subjects to apply for these opportunities. Only those who apply through KUCCPS portal will be considered for government sponsorship.
CS directed KUCCPS to adhere to strict timelines and to inform all applicants of their placement by the end of June.
