Students who sat for their KCSE examination in 2022 and are awaiting to enroll in higher education institutions will be given priority for Covid-19 vaccines.
This is despite the fact that the deadline for submitting their course selections had passed on Thursday.
The portal was set to open on May 20 and close on June 2.
Health PS Susan Mochache said the students will be prioritised due to their out-of-school interactions.
“We’re especially interested in reaching out to the more than 800,000 young people who finished their KCSE in April 2022 and have now joined the community,” Mochache said.
They are at risk of contracting infections, according to the health PS, as they experience numerous aspects of life.
A total of 144,461 students with a C+ or higher will be eligible for degree programs at the 70 universities that are authorized.
The remaining almost 600,000 students can apply for self-sponsored student slots or study in TVETs.
