On Tuesday, July 19, the Teacher Services Commission (TSC) announced the names of those registered to fill 14,460 positions nationwide.
The council announced the creation of 5,000 new jobs, as well as an additional 830 vacancies to replace teachers who have left the service because of the attraction.
According to media sources, more than 356,000 teachers have applied for the position, with 219,311 teaching post-primary teachers most likely after 4,000 openings. 136,833 elementary teachers offered 1,000 openings. In addition, the Commission has applied for more than 327,882 for 8,230 openings by teachers who left due to attraction.
The commission to fill vacancies in Garissa, Mandera and Wajir initially announced 386 vacancies, with 114 contracts for primary schools and 272 contracts for secondary schools. TSC has also received approval targeting schools in drought-affected districts such as Mandera, Garissa and Wajir.
