A freshly hired graduate teacher in Kenya receives a basic salary from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of at least Sh34,955 per month. Such a teacher is classified as a Secondary Teacher II and falls under grade C2 (formerly known as Job group K).
Besides to basic pay, you also receive allowances. For C2 teachers, you will earn a monthly commuter allowance of Sh5,000. Only one annual payment of Sh6,000 is made for leave benefits. A monthly house allowance of between Sh6,500 and Sh7,000 is given.
