In order to replace individuals who had previously been promoted or transferred to new stations, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has made another round of adjustments to its field officers.
Martha Mbugua, the TSC Deputy Director, and Nyandarua, who also served as the director of the Nyandarua Central Sub-county, are among those who have been impacted by the latest changes. She now moves to Uasin Gishu to take Boniface Ngugi’s place, who was the Turbo Sub-County Director and the Deputy TSC Director.
Jane Nyakoe, who previously served as the deputy director of Elgeyo Marakwet and was also in charge of the Keiyo North Sub-County, now serves in a similar role in West Pokot after switching places with David Mogaka.
The Deputy Director of the Nyamira TSC, Gerald Kamunde, has also been transferred to Machakos to take the place of Phanice Mwito, who is now dealing with some disciplinary concerns.
Dr. Truphosa Korir took over for Jackson Mutai, who had served as the TSC’s deputy director in Homabay and had been moved to Kasarani in Nairobi County to serve as the sub-county director.
Former Dagoreti Sub-County Director Edward Zani has been elevated to the position of Deputy Director and transferred to Makueni. David Gutu, who was previously promoted to TSC Director Tana River County, is replaced by him.
A number of Sub-County Directors were also transferred to new locations as a result of the reforms, including Millicent Odhiambo, the Kangundo Sub-County Director in Machakos, who was transferred to the TSC Headquarters in a comparable role. Kimani Mauta, who served as the Molo Sub-County Director, is similarly affected.
Salome Ombiso, the Bungoma West Sub-county Director, was concurrently elevated and appointed Nyamira’s Deputy Director to take Kamunde’s place.
In order to replace Zani, Ann Wamugunda, who formerly served as the Sub-County Director at the TSC headquarters, will now relocate to Dagoreti.
These adjustments come after a number of transfers and promotions made by the teachers’ employer in the previous two months, during which time a number of TSC deputy directors were elevated to full directors to take the place of those who had filed for retirement or had disciplinary proceedings. The Commission also moved a number of directors to new stations at that time as part of what it describes as measures to enhance service delivery.
