Salaries TSC will pay teachers,for Secondary Teacher I are teachers in Secondary schools whose grade is C3 (formerly L);
Note that this is a promotional grade for teachers in secondary school.
Teachers under this category earn salaries of between Sh41,343- Sh51,927; they will now earn between Sh43,154 and Sh53,943 effective July, 2020.
The TSC basic salaries for these teachers are paid depending on the areas where they work.
They teachers who work in Nairobi get a slightly higher house allowance compared to those plying their trade in rural schools. Note also that an equal amount of commuter allowance; which is Sh6,000.
TSC Salaries for teachers working under hardship (get Sh12,300) plus those handling physically challenged students get extra allowances.
TSC also pays a flat rate of Sh6,000 per year as leave allowance. This is paid together with the January salaries.
