Teachers of grades 1, 2, and 3 will be exposed to the updated English and Kiswahili Designs and Instructional Materials at an orientation that will be conducted by the County Directors with the guidance of the State Department of Early Learning and Basic Education and the Ministry of Education.
The State Department of Early Learning and Basic Education, Kenya Institute, and Curriculum Development will assist the training, which will be financed by USAID.
The Ministry of Education has therefore requested that all County Directors tell field officers on the modified course materials and curriculum design by May 2022.
This calls on all public school teachers in the first, second, and third grades to embrace the same concept.
The orientation will take place between September 19 and September 23, 2022, during the break from classes.
The lead trainers should develop a Zonal training schedule for each zone in the several Counties.
By distributing a circular to all Regional Commissioners and County Directors, the Ministry of Education is instructed to organize the training sites and invite the teachers.
The satisfactory completion of the orientation is also requested of the County Directors.
