A 22-year-old University of Nairobi (UoN) student was killed in her apartment in Uthiru, Kiambu County, raising concerns about number of university students murdered.
Lucy Ngendo was found lying in the pool of her blood by her friend, identified only as Matena, after she was killed by unknown assailants.
Matena said that Ngendo and her spent a few hours in the room before going to sleep. She came to borrow the charger, but when I called her later, the call did not go through. I had called her boyfriend to ask if he had the key to the room where Lucy had rented. Her boyfriend gave me the key.
“When I opened the door, I found her dead. Ngendo’s body was lying on a pool of blood, ” Matena added.
They said they wanted justice for their friend because she was murdered and asked detectives to quickly solve this despicable act. Some of Ngendo’s neighbors speculated that the killing was quick after only a short shout from the living room.
Detective Simon who is handling the case, said it seems that the girl opened the door to someone who is believed to be close to her.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the killers.
