Professor George Magoha, the cabinet secretary under the ministry of education earlier had revised school reopening dates and ordered for all schools to reopen on 18th August to complete term 2 of 2022.
The delay in the above ongoing exercise saw the government’s decision on the suspension of the re-opening of ALL basic education institutions with effect from Monday, 15th August 2022, until Thursday, 18th August 2022.Thus is according to professor Magoha.
Even if the above postponement raised concern that a prolonged shutdown of schools will cause syllabus coverage to be delayed for classes taking 2022 national exams in November and December,Magoha assured parents that learners are well prepared.
Magoha insisted that the term dates will now no longer be altered in anyway .After all schools were closed on 16th September 2022, the MoE has given orders for all schools to reopen on 26th September to commence the 3rd term of 2022.
*Here is the earlier MoE Calendar.*
*2022.*
It should be noted that in this 3rd term, the learners will sit for their kcpe and kcse examinations .
