On October 26th Wednesday , 2022 , the Kenya medical training college was officially ushered to join in the list if institutions that are benefiting from the higher loans education board HELB funds.
KMTC will now join Kenyan public universities, national polythechnics , Entrepreneurship Training and Technical Industrial training Institutions that have been receiving these funds from the treasurely.
KMTC has confirmed lto have received an allowance of kSh 680 million , money that will be used to support this new program .
This move was described as one of the top allocations the institution has ever received that will now see students education supported awesomely.
During the launch launch of this program in Nairobi, Mr. Zachary Muburi , the Board Director said that this funding targets college students from most vulnerable backgrounds.
He added that the institution had received the first tranche of almost 170 million , encouraging more eligible students to apply for the same money.
A total of 54,000 students at the moment are undertaking Higher Diplomas, Diplomas, Certificates, and Short courses at the courses across the country.
During this launch, Kmtc students were urged to go for the Currently available financial support and at the same time look for other sources to supplement on these funds since the allocations may not be enough.
HELB confirmed that it is ready to receive and ensure administration of funds as well as setting the up for the new criteria plus the requirements governing the issuance and disbursement of these funds to students.
National Government was appreciated for coming up with this program since this funds will be a greater relief to many cases of needy students who are likely to drop out of school due to lack of school fees

Mr. Charles Ringera the current HELB CEO revealed that around 49,000 students have in the past benefited from the funds.
