On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, it was announced that there are plans to change the cut-off point for university admission.
According to the latest report by the Star newspaper on Wednesday evening, the vice chancellors of public universities have begun to reform their institutions to ensure adequate funding. Among the changes they want to make is a limit on the number of students who transfer from high school to university.
Reports say the state plans to raise the cutoff score from the current 46 points (C+) to reduce the number of government-funded students who transfer directly to universities. The university’s vice chancellor believes doing so will save public universities from financial ruin.
The current plan could mean that the old system could be reinstated, where students had to score at least a B (plain) in the KSCE to get into university.
