KCSE 2022 marking exercise started on 2nd January 2023. This is because examiners requested KNEC to postpone the reporting dates to marking centers to allow them to enjoy the festive holiday.
It is barely a week after the exercise began and teachers marking in Mang’u High school have stopped marking indefinitely. This is because of the poor working conditions and low marking rates.
” We want the marking rates to be raised high up from Ksh 55 to Ksh 100 per paper” the tutors demanded. The reason we are demanding this payment is due to the high cost of living brought about by high inflation in our country.
.
Another reason for suspending the marking exercise is due to the new precautionary marking measures that KNEC introduced today 10th that teachers became unhappy with.
One of the teacher marking said that the new measure that was introduced slowed down the marking process hence taking so much time to complete the marking.
Education CS Machogu, Education PS Belio and TSC CEO DR. Nancy Macharia arrived at ST. Francis Mangu Girls High school to contain the situation.
Talks are ongoing with the Tutors and we are hoping thing will be sorted out well.
On saturday, CS Machogu said that examination result for KCSE 2022 will be out this week because the KCSE 2022 marking exercise was going on smooth.
