It is a sigh of relief at Cardinal Otunga Mosocho High School after the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results were released.
During the publication of the results, a total of 50 candidates did not get their results.
The release of the above results for the 50 candidates was initially delayed after the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) decided to withhold them following allegations of students involved in examination irregularities.
According to the Principal Mr. Albert Ombiro, Cardinal Otunga Mosocho, the announcement of the examination results on January 8 by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu revealed that 50 out of 433 candidates missed their results.
After receiving the report, it asked the school management to immediately approach the KNEC, which responded that it was in the process of resolving the matter.
Sharing the remarkable results, the school principal said six candidates achieved an average grade of A plain, another 60 achieved A minus, a total of 137 with B plus as 203 got B plain.
In addition, there were 26 candidates who got a B-minus, which also marked the lowest grade in the school.
Unfortunately, the principal also reported that one candidate who achieved B grade died shortly after completing the kcse exams.
The principal, who was accompanied by his two deputies, Gerald Ayiera and David Mayaka, were grateful for the outstanding results of the union of faith in God.
They also counted on the dedicated efforts of teachers and students and the cooperation of parents and all external supporters.
The principal further highlighted the role of teamwork in achieving these commendable results and commended the divine intervention witnessed throughout the year.
The giant school boys’ school is located in Kisii County and is among the oldest Catholic secondary schools in the region.
In 2022, the school reported an average score of 10.8 in the national examination, ranking second nationally after Nyambaria National School.
