An Easy Coach bus carrying students of Chavakali Boys High School overturned on the Kakamega-Nairobi highway.
The students were travelling to Nairobi for the April holidays after schools closed after the first term.

The calamity unfolded along the Kakamega-Nairobi highway near the Coptic Church Roundabout on Monday, April 1.
After the end of the school term, students were impatiently waiting to be reunited with their families in good health.
However, their journey took a devastating turn when the bus they were traveling in overturned, plunging them into a nightmare scenario.
One student has been confirmed Dead with another ten in critical condition.
As the community grapples with this heartbreaking news, Nyanza regional transport commander Allan Mwangi has been quick to intervene.
Police officers were deployed to nearby hospitals to assess the extent of the injuries sustained by the students and closely monitor their health.
My officers are on site while others are currently visiting various hospitals to ascertain the exact number of injured students. For now, we can confirm that one student is dead,” he added.
The deceased was taken to Jaramogi Oginga Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for preservation and other procedures.
