The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the 2024 examiner training dates for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
The training will start from August 18 to August 24, 2024.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to pay a training fee of Ksh 10,500 (ten thousand five hundred shillings).
Shortlisted applicants will be informed by KNEC via text message (SMS) and the portal about the method of payment.
The location of the training will be communicated to qualified applicants at a later date and the training will be exclusively residential.
KNEC will then engage such examiners using the criteria for recruiting examiners based on staffing needs for each job.
Teachers who are already trained as KCSE examiners and are on the KNEC examiner database do not need to apply.
Applications are therefore invited from interested and qualified teachers as follows:

*General requirements for all examiner trainees*
1.Must be a practicing teacher in relevant areas at examination level;
2.Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Commission (TSC);
3.Must have a Diploma in Education (and above);
4.Have at least three (3) years of teaching experience;
5.MUST NOT be subject to a ban or any other form of disciplinary action by TSC;
6.Must be recommended by his or her institutional supervisor; and
7.Must be over 50 years old.
*APPLICATION PROCEDURE*
Access the KNEC examiners portal using the link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke;
Users with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords;
Those who have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click the “reset password” button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords to login to the system;
Users without CP2 accounts should click on create an account and follow the instructions to obtain credentials to access the system;
After successful login, fill in their personal profile and save. On the dashboard, click apply for training and all declared vacancies will be available for applicants to select.
The number of training blocks is limited and only qualified teachers who have submitted all required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise.
