More than 30,000 teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission will smile soon after being considered first in the pay hike.
TSC boss Dr. Nancy Macharia says that B5, which is mostly for primary school teachers, has been deprived for many years.
Most teachers in this job group are forgotten when it comes to salary hikes. It is time for them to be remembered and Macharia assures them that from next month this year, their payslip will read differently.
The teachers of job group D3 have also been long forgotten in the matter of salary hike. These are mainly the directors of studies in the schools that are to be promoted.
For many years the Teachers Service Commission has promised him promotion and salary increase but nothing good has been done from his side. Macharia has again expressed regret over this and said that TSC will first consider him in the increment. They have been told not to worry.
Macharia further says that the commission will give salary hike to all teachers but these two groups are to be considered first.
She insists that the commission has already received funds for the salary hike of teachers and teachers should take rest and wait for it to take effect.
