The first term for the year 2022 started on April 25, 2022.
This period is a long period of ten weeks.
Following the latest updates in the education sector, all schools in the country will now take three days off between 26th and 29th May 2022.
However most of the parents have been caught unawares, especially the parents whose students reported to the school about two weeks ago.
This new academic school calendar began for the second and final time near the middle of the year as the Corona virus epidemic disrupted educational activities across the country at the beginning of the school year.
The second term in the new calendar will begin on June 11, 2022.
This period will also take 10-weeks with three days off between 11th and 14th August, 2022.
Then on 17th September 2022, students in all educational institutions in Kenya will be given one week off.
The official start of the third and final term of the academic year 2022, which is one week shorter than the previous two, has been moved to 26th September.
Note that no school will have a half-term break for this period.
To get things started, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams are to be held in the year 2022 between 28th November and 1st December.
The information we have is that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams will be held in the year 2022 between 1st and 23rd December.
The period allotted for the marking exercise is from 2nd to 20th January 2023.
