Despite the fact that there are few weeks left for the exam, some students don’t mind it.
This comes after students of Bartolimo Boys High in Baringo went on strike over claims their mobile phones were confiscated by the school administration.
It is reported that teachers broke into the students’ hostel at midnight on Thursday, and caught several boys using their smartphones to chat comfortably and others to play mobile phone games. The teachers forced them to hand over the phones as they are not allowed to keep them in school.
The boys are said to have pelted stones and immediately forced the teacher to surrender their gadgets. Phones are part of those gadgets that students shouldn’t have in schools especially during this exam period, but learners are so clever, they can hide them anyway and you can’t find them especially for boarding schools like Bartolimo Can.
The school is located Bartolimo, Baringo County in Rift Valley region of Kenya. The school has performed well in the Kenya National Council of Examinations, KNEC, examinations. The school posted good results to rank among the best schools in the county in the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE, examination.
