A hostel collapsed today after a fire broke out in a hostel of over 190 students at Nandi County’s Samoei Boys Secondary School on Sunday morning.
According to Nandi East County Commissioner Leonard Magute, there were no casualties during the incident, but many students lost all their valuables.
Magute revealed that the security team was already reviewing the CCTV footage to ascertain what caused the fire at 6:00 am.
The commissioner further revealed that the students will remain in the school and encouraged the parents to remain calm as the situation has been brought under control and there is no need for tension.
