Private schools shall be required to build separate institutions for hosting junior secondary school.
George Magoha said private education stakeholders should make sure that there are stand-alone schools for the pupils who will transition in January.
He continued to say that JSS was to be hosted in secondary schools as said earlier, but that has chosen because of the circumstances in the private sector. We are telling private sector primary schools that you can create stand-alone junior high schools.
However, for the public sector, CS Magoha said JSS will be hosted in secondary schools.
Magoha while speaking in Mombasa for the ongoing Kenya Private Schools Association conference, said the government do not have money to employ more teachers but the private sector can employ their teachers and pay them.
Magoha assured private schools of the government’s support in the rollout of CBC in junior high.
However, when urged by the stakeholders to extend government capitation to the learners who will be in private junior secondary he said that cannot be done.
He added that there are parents who can afford to pay hence government will facilitate private schools where possible.
He also urged owners of private schools to ensure their classrooms are compliant with CBC requirements.
Ministry of Education officials will begin inspection to ensure that schools meet the minimum requirements before they are registered.
Education CS warned his officials against taking bribes from the proprietors of private schools before they are registered.
The ministry will outline the guidelines for the placement of the pupils that will be transitioning to junior secondary school.
Magoha assured parents, teachers, students and all education stakeholders that the placement would be fair.

Good evening,
I was promoted to C4 on February 2020.I salary was not upgrade until May 2022.
The accumulated areas received from C3 to C4 was only 47,000 after serving as a deputy from October 2020 in May 2022.
My salary areas from the time I was promoted to the time I received the increment is about K sh 150,000. 00
Where did the rest of my salary increment from C3-C4 (from February 2020) to May 22 go?
Where should I lodge my complain?
