The ongoing regular transfer of principals and other teachers across the country has affected secondary school principals in Kisii and Nyamira counties.
In the recent development, the principal of Suneka High School, Mr. Masiwo was transferred to Tom Mboya High School in Homabay County.
Kisii County Director of Education, Mr. Pius Ngoma confirmed the transfer but did not name the transfer of the transferred principal.
In Nyamira County, the long-serving principal of Kebirigo High School, Dr. Wara, was also transferred to the school, which has not yet been announced.
When contacted he replied in just one sentence.
“It is true I’ve been transferred at the time I expected least.”
The principal, who had just handed over the 2022 KCSE candidate registration and minor role to the education offices for certification, wished the school to continue well with the steering performance on which he set the basis.
He dropped out of school after leading his 311 candidates to excel at the university with a direct entry grade except for one who scored a C plain.
The results were tabulated with 13 students getting A-, 107 B +, 127 B plane, 50 B- and 13 candidates getting C + and only one student got C plain.
The school has an average score of 9.2, two points higher than the 2020 exam results.
Mr. Bornifes Oko, Director of Education, Nyamira County, confirmed the transfer and described it as a general and professional requirement that empowered TCS to work with the Ministry of Education to make the necessary changes effective.
