More than 315,000 teachers employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) have received their July salaries and allowances.
The teacher’s salary has been transferred to various bank accounts and wallets. Among them are KCB Bank, National Bank and Family Bank.
There is evidence that some teachers took the month of July in debt. In addition, TSC transferred some teachers from one work group to another.
Professional development guidelines state that teachers who have been in the same occupational group for three years are transferred to a new one.
School leaders reaped the biggest rewards from the increase this July. These people include principals, teachers and senior teachers. Below is a summary of salary points extending from C4 to D4.
Extending the Pay Scale for Class C4, C5, D1 and D4 is seven-thirds interval as per the table above.
The increased pay scale for grades D2 and D3 is from two points to seven points. The debt will be paid this month.
However, according to the TSC, B5, C1, C2, C3 and D5 teachers are not eligible for compensation in the C5 term 2017-2021.
According to the TSC, teachers’ salaries cannot be increased as they have reached the maximum salary level.
“CBA has reached the maximum salary level allowed to bind grades B5, C1, C2, C3 and D5 until the end of the 2017-2021 cycle,” he said.
The basic salary for teachers was fixed in the last CBA for 2021-2025
