A total of 30,000 teachers will be employed starting January Next year, 2023.
This is according to President William Ruto who spoke yesterday on Wednesday 13th October after he officially opened the Komarock South Primary School funded by the Embakasi Central NG-CDF.
According to Dr. Ruto move will mark the first phase of absorbing more than 116,000 teachers to bridge the existing gap in schools.
Just Incase his promises goes through then this recruitment would be in line with President William Ruto’s campaign promise that, if elected, his government would employ 116,000 teachers in two years to bridge the current shortage in public schools.
Additionally, this would be the single largest recruitment of teachers ever and would push the number of teachers on the government payroll to 400,000.
In the Previous week the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) met with TSC Regional and County Directors in an effort to meet the requirements of the current government with the biggest being employment and delocalization.
The above meeting came shortly after the TSC boss Nancy Macharia revealed that talks are ongoing regarding employment of 58,000 new teachers during teachers’ day celebrations.
