On March 2, 2009, the Kenya National Examination Council [KNEC] began implementing a policy of changing certificates for affected applicants who sat for the KNEC exams from 1981.
Knec, on the other hand, no longer prints duplicate certificates. It sends confirmation of results that can be used to replace missing certificates.
Knec had previously approved for manual certificate replacement. However, the examiner has recently shifted the process of changing the entire certificate online.
Below is a simple online process started by Knec a year ago, now you can replace your lost KCPE or KCSE certificate.
Here are the steps to replace your lost KCPE or KCSE certificate online.

*ONLINE APPLICATION FOR LOST KCPE/KCSE CERTIFICATES*
Here are the step-by-step instructions for resolving this issue.
If you lose your KCSE or KCPE certificates, first go to the knec portal and fill out the QMIS form under confirmation to get your results confirmed.
In order to apply online for KNEC confirmation of results Click here, then click ‘Register‘ to create an account then apply.
Register as a candidate.

*REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:*
Inorder to Scan any of the following documents.
A photocopy or result slip of the lost certificate (if available)
or
The Class nominal results sheet for the year you did the exam.
or
A letter from the school where you did the exam.
*PROCEDURE:*
Create your KNEC online account, registering as a candidate.
A password is sent to your email. Use it to log in.
Click on CONFIRMATION and fill in the required details.
Attach the available document and submit.
*APPLICATION FEE:*
You’ll be required to pay an application fee of Kshs. 2,320 via MPESA Pay bill 250544.
Mpesa Account number is provided via SMS after submission of the application and verification of your documents.
Now you can check the progress of your application online by logging in to the portal then click status.
