Education ministry released the 2022/2023 school fees structure for all secondary schools under the government’s Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) programme across the country.
The adjustments above came after Covid 19 attack that sho MOE Issue guidelines showing the amount of school fees to be paid by parents in National Schools, Extra County Schools, County, Sub-county and special schools. Here are the new guidelines from the Ministry;
Note that priorities of secondary education are guided by strategic objectives articulated in the Medium Term Plan III (2018-2022) of Vision 2030 and the Constitution of Kenya In this regard, the Government of Kenya (GOK) will continue with its effort to maintain one hundred percent (100%) transition from primary to secondary education.
According to the Ministry of education, the decision to enhance the maintenance and improvement in 2019 to help schools meet some maintenance and development needs will continue to apply in 2022/2023.
That aside, term 2 for 2022 has indeed been occupied by a series of an unending events .Key among the is the General Elections that has seen all Kenyan schools close for almost two and half weeks.
The cabinet secretary for education, Prof. George Magoha, declared that all institutions of basic education would reopen on Thursday, August 18, this came after institutions dismissed early on August 2nd to allow for appropriate planning and execution of the general election.
It should be remembered that earlier communication had directed that learning would have resumed on August 11th, but the ministry later extended it until August 15th.This was as a result of process of tallying continued for some days after the conduct of our national election on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Under the MoE official School calender guidelines,Term 2 program was expected to cover 10 weeks.
However, this may not be achieved since since schools closed earlier than usual.As a result, all parents and guardians are now optimistic and waiting for the ministry to offer directive on whether the school fees for term 2, 2022 is going to be adjusted or not .
