The Teacher Service Commission TSC has given good news for primary school teachers.
TSC data shows that with the implementation of junior secondary school, more primary school teachers will be required to teach in junior secondary classes.
The boss of the Teacher Service Commission, Dr. Nancy Macharia says that with the implementation of competency based curriculum, more secondary school teachers will be required, hence the need for primary school teachers to be deployed in junior secondary.
The Commission has confirmed that the exercise of posting teachers will not be discriminatory at all.
Dr. Macharia added that at least 6000 primary school teachers would be deployed early next year to complete 100% transition in schools.
After the full implementation of CBC around June next year, there will be another group that will be deployed in junior secondary.
The commission, however, clarified that it would give first priority to primary school teachers who have obtained C + grade in K.C.S.E certificate.
At the same time, the highest preference will be given to teachers with C + grade in two teaching subjects which will be required.
So if you are an elementary school teacher with an average grade of C + in KCSE, be prepared to be posted to junior secondary school. An official full list is being prepared and once it is out, our media team will update it immediately. Keep checking the page. Thank you
