The most recent update from the Ministry of Education is that Form One students have been postponed from the scheduled date before reporting the dates to their respective secondary schools.
According to new details in a new circular addressed to school heads and the National Parents Association on Wednesday, April 27, the frontline secretary for basic education, Dr. Julius noted that Form Once will report to the school on Wednesday, May 4th.
The above official changes are a result of the May 3 gazette which was the date of the initial report by the internal Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i as a public holiday.
The above public holiday will be celebrated on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In the circular, part of the captured statement reads: “CS for Internal is gazetted on 3rd May which is the date the Form One students were expected to be notified. As a result, it has been decided that the reporting date will be Thursday, May 4. Please make sure all schools are notified of the change.
Success for everyone around the bed while starting their new life in secondary schools.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has told school principals that May 10, 2022, is the last day for Form One admissions in schools across the country.
All students who report after the said date will be denied the opportunity to join the respective schools placed by the Ministry.
Professor Magoha requested the principals to admit all the students placed in their school without informing them about the school fees or uniforms, regardless of the parents let their children go to school.
Magoha further pointed out that the school should ensure that students join Form One despite the high number of 2021 KCPE candidates seeking admission in secondary schools.
The principals of most of the schools had earlier overcrowded the school facilities due to overcrowding and pushed them to the brink of collapse.
