The first term of the official 2022 started on April 25 last month. It is a ten week long period in which all the schools in the country will have a three day break between 26th May and 29th May 2022.
It is now the second and last school year since the corona virus epidemic invaded the country and affected most school activities, beginning in the middle of the year.
The official dates for the second term will start on June 11, 2022.
This will also be a 10-week period with a 3-day break between 11th August and 14th August 2022. All schools in Kenya will then take a break for a week-long holiday on September 17, 2022.
This year’s deadline, term three which is one week shorter than its first two terms, is expected to begin on September 26, 2022.
Not all schools will have a half-term break during this period.
It should be noted that in the same third term, all Kenyan national examinations for Class VIII candidates (KCPE), Form Four students (KCSE) and Class Six students (KPSEA) will be conducted.
According to the KNEC guidelines, the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams will be held between November 28 and December 1, 2022.
Thereafter, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will run from December 1 to December 23, 2022. The marking exercise will take place between 2nd January 2023 and 20th January 2023.
