Six County Directors have been moved to new stations in the latest reshuffling by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Those affected in the new changes include Murang’a County Director, Jane Mwendwa who now reports to Nyamira. She will replace Wilson Koros who has been moved to Bungoma. Koros takes the place of Japeth Kariuki who moves to Nakuru in a similar capacity.
Mr. Kariuki on the other hand goes to succeed Fredrick Ng’ang’a who now departs from Nakuru to Murang’a. Ng’ang’a will be taking over from Ms Mwenda.
Similarly, Joyce Kikuvi who has been the Kirinyaga County boss will now swap places with Dr. Samwel Marigat who has been the Mombasa County director.
This comes hot on the heels of a major shake-up done by the commission last month. The changes saw several deputy directors promoted to full directors and a number of directors transferred to new stations in what was occasioned by retirement of previous office holders and exits arising from disciplinary cases among other considerations.
County directors are charged with the responsibility of performing teacher management functions at the regional level. The tasks include coordinating the recruitment, transfer and discipline of teachers among other duties. They report to the Regional Directors under the new organizational structure. Earlier they reported to the Head of Staffing at the TSC headquarters.
