The KCSE results of four hundred and forty one candidates were canceled as the results of other schools have been withheld.
Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha on Saturday canceled the results of 441 KCSE 2021 candidates due to discrepancies in the examination. KCSE result canceled due to exam malpractice or fraud cases.
Out of that number, 203 were found to have unauthorized material during the examination, 203 with mobile phones and eight examinees were found impersonated.
The other cases were of collusion (6) and creating disturbances in the examination hall (1).
Magoha said that ahead of the 2021 KCSE examinations, the government has intensified measures to prevent any kind of fraud through the joint efforts of all the members of the multi-agency team.
The CS said the result of this increased vigilance was that almost all cases of fraud were preventable.
“The country will make me witness that many mobile phones that were already used to relay exposed exam material were confiscated before they were used,” he said.
I would like to categorically state that KNEC will show no mercy for the examination of those criminals who must be dealt with decisively.
