KMTC short courses are offered to tailor-made for individuals, corporates or organizations. Short courses help meet Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements and stay relevant in the profession.
The application is done online by logging into the KMTC portal available at www.kmtc.ac.ke and choose the option of short course and follow the steps as prescribed by the system.
1. HIV Testing Services (HTS)
Description
The curriculum prepares participants to provide comprehensive HIV testing services (HTS), strengthen engagement with care and treatment and other post-testing services, defining the target population that specifically may benefit from testing services (accredited by NASCOP).
Target group
Health worker ***/Anyone interested in working in AIDS programs (minimumi Diploma)
2. Echocardiography
Description
The course enables participants to perform and interpret echocardiograms and ultrasound imaging of the heart and blood flow, gain expert understanding of the latest scientific laboratory equipment including clinical skills laboratory and the use of echocardiographic machines.

Radiographer, Healthcare professional with background in Medical Physiology.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation
Description
The course provides participants with the knowledge necessary to design and implement health projects to meet the health needs of populations and promote evidence-based decision making. Graduates work with local and international NGOs, public and private sector projects

Project Manager, Project Officer, Project Assistant, Health Information Officer, Practitioner involved in designing, supervising, coordinating or monitoring interventions

4. Healthcare Entrepreneurship
Description
This course empowers participants to become healthcare entrepreneurs or manage their healthcare businesses profitably.
Target group
Healthcare workers and those working in the healthcare business.
5. Safe Phlebotomy
Description
The course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to perform safe phlebotomy, provide quality samples for laboratory tests, handle phlebotomy equipment, and avoid occupational exposure.
Target group
Laboratory Technician, Technologist, Scientist, Medical Officer, Clinical Officer, Nurse, Other Certificate or Diploma in Health related course.
6. Infection Prevention
Description
This modular course will prepare participants to prevent and control infections in various healthcare set ups.
Target group
Healthcare Workers, Hospital Support Staff, Hospital Administration, HTC Counselors, Caregivers.
7. First Aid and Basic Life Support
Description
This course empowers the participants to prevent and manage life threatening emergencies. The training follows the accepted international guidelines which help the participants.
Target group
Drivers, hoteliers, police officers, security firms, county emergency/disaster teams, teachers, etc.
8. Sign Language for Healthcare Workers
Description
The course prepares participants to communicate in sign language, helping the deaf access health care consistent with universal health coverage
Target group
health workers and those interested in working for the deaf; Minimum requirement certificate in any course.
9. Community Health and Development
Description
The course prepares participants to work as community health workers in the health sector in line with UHC objectives.
Target group
Form Four Levers and anyone interested in working at the community level; Minimum requirement D plain.
10. Medical Engineering (Basic Electronics)
Description
Course participants will acquire and apply knowledge to the manufacture, service, repair and maintenance of various electronic components.
Target group
Technicians, who wish to pursue a technician career with a bias towards medical devices.
11. Medical Engineering (Basic Electrical Wiring)
Description
The course prepares participants to perform basic electrical wiring installation and distribution for domestic premises, performing electrical insulation, safety and functional testing.

12. Medical Engineering (Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Cold Rooms)
Description
The course enables participants to service, repair and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

13. Medical Engineering (Fielding and Construction)
Description
The course enables participants to perform general welding and fabrication in metal work, service and repair.

14. Dialysis Nursing

This course is designed to equip nurses with specialized skills in the management of patients requiring both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

15. Fostering Counseling
Description
