The Secretary General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT Mr. Collins Oyuu was involved in a road accident in Kisumu County on Monday morning.
The secretary general was involved in an accident near Kombewa on the Bondo-Kisumu route when his car went off the road and overturned several times.
According to Nyanza Regional Traffic Officer Allan Mwangi, Oyuu’s car overturned while avoiding a cyclist.
He indicated that they are investigating the accident in which the cyclist was injured. The second victim escaped without injury
Mr. Oyuu was hospitalized in a hospital in Kisumu after surviving a horrific accident.
Oyuu is currently undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu said he is still in shock. He indicated that he is out of danger but doctors are still monitoring him.
Oyuu said he was saved by his seat belt, which prevented him from being ejected from the vehicle.
He indicated that he is doing better but is still in shock. I had my seat belt on and it was holding me when the accident happened.
Oyuu was involved in an accident that occurred on the Bondo-Kisumu road.
It is still unclear what caused the car to overturn, but police have begun an investigation into the incident.
