Most of the universities in Kenya are offering unapproved courses which are considered invalid by the University Education Commission (CUE).
According to a 2019 report, some of the courses being offered illegally in higher educational institutions include Bachelor of Arts (BA) in geography, political science, community development, development, policy studies and counseling psychology.
Unofficial science courses include; Applied statistics with computing, actuarial science, botany, informatics and natural resource management, management and information, human nutrition and diabetes, public health and biochemistry.
