At 8 feet tall, Bradley Marongo towers over almost everyone he interacts with on a daily basis because of his unique stature.
Marongo, now known as the ‘Gen Z Goliath’, is well known in Kangemi where he often hangs out and hustles. He is known by many netizens as the “Kenyan Giant” and has gone viral, impressing Kenya with his incredible size.
He became especially a familiar face during the protests against the finance bill, where even the police were seen talking to him in surprise. “I became viral during the protest when someone posted a video of me. Since then I became a known figure and have been known since then,” he said in an interview with Citizen TV on Friday.
The 27-year-old, who weighs 120 kilograms, emphasizes that he is used to the attention due to his size, although it took some time.
He opened up about his life and the challenges he faces because of his physical appearance, especially his height. He added that he struggles to get simple and basic things like the right clothes and shoes. “I don’t know a company that makes shoes in my size. I tried to find one without success. That’s why I always wear sandals, which are made to order. I don’t remember the last time I wore the shoes. I don’t even have a bed because they don’t fit me,” he said.
Away from the limelight, he is just a man trying to survive and provide for his family by working at a stage terminal in Kangemi and creating content. According to him, his parents are not as tall as him.
“I work as a tout in Kangemi and also create content, I’m married with two children and I like to watch basketball, that’s why I’m seen with this shirt,” he said.
Due to his spectacular size, Marongo is the perfect example of a “giant” man and he likes to refer to himself as “Kenya’s tallest man”.
