According to the National Union of Teachers of Kenya, there was a request for additional work for the S and T groups, which the commission granted.
With the new classification, the two categories have been named D4 and D5 respectively. Chief principals now fall into category D5 of the new grading system.

According to the TSC Salary Circular released, the Teacher Service Commission will list the salary increase of different tutors according to their working groups for primary and secondary school tutors.

Secondary school teachers in the current C2 working group, formerly known as K working group with a Bachelor of Science degree or other equivalent, will not receive any salary increases during this 3rd phase.
It therefore means that the pay scale of the TSC k working group remains at a minimum of Ksh. 34, 955 and a maximum of Ksh. 43, 694.
Also, the salary of some secondary school teachers in Kenya will not be affected as they belong to the non-incremental group for the third stage. The other categories of trainers whose salary increase was foreseen only for the 1st and 2nd phase are:
Equally the Teaching Service
The Commission has lined up more than 10 000 places to be filled by interns, also known as graduate trainees. Successful candidates will be absorbed in teaching for one year as the internship is scheduled for twelve months. Trainees of the teacher are entitled to a monthly salary from Ksh. 10,000 for primary school and Ksh trainees. 15,000 for secondary school trainees.
Likewise, this sum of money is subject to legal deductions where applicable.
