The new MoE School Calendar for 2023 has been released.
The Ministry of Education yesterday, January 6, 2023 announced a 47-week academic calendar for Kenyan schools.
The calendar includes all important dates, including the opening and closing dates of each term.
The ministry said publicly that the academic calendar has returned to normal and everything will continue as usual from January 23, when all schools will officially open.
The first academic term of 2023 is expected to start on 23 January 2023 and last for 13 weeks.
-The three-day half-term will begin on March 23. The second half of the term ends on April 22, 2023.
Term 2 officially begins on May 8, 2023. It is expected to last 13 weeks.
-Half term will last three days from June 29th to July 2nd.
After that, the rest of the second term will end and students will be on holiday from August 8 to August 28, 2023.
In any academic year, the shortest final term, or Term 3, will also begin.
The duration of this period is ten weeks.
In addition, there will be national exams during this period.
The KCPE exam will start from November 6 to November 9.
The exam will be held from December 4, 2023 to December 22, 2023.
