One person was killed and several others seriously injured after a bus traveling on the Moyale-Marsabit highway was shot by an unknown gunman on the night of Monday, September 2.
The incident happened between Bori Junction and Dadach Lakole area when gunmen attacked the Salama bus from Nairobi before fleeing the scene.
The bus had bullet holes all over its body, its windows were broken and some of its tires were punctured. Police and residents then gathered at the scene, where several passengers were seen bleeding from gunshot wounds.
The injured were taken to the Sololo Mission Hospital for treatment and one person succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. The police launched an investigation into the incident.
