A fire broke out on Monday night at Yemit Boys High School in Marakwet West, Elgeyo Marakwet County, destroying property of unknown value.
According to witnesses, the fire broke out around 18:30 and burned one of the dormitories, where more than a hundred students were staying.
According to reports, the fire broke out while students were attending evening classes, raising concerns about the cause of the fire.
Obtained videos showing the dormitory completely engulfed in smoke, even as students and other residents intensified efforts to put out the fire. A little later, the police arrived at the scene and began to investigate the cause of the fire.
Despite the massive destruction of property, no injuries were reported.
The latest incident follows a series of fires reported across the country over the past seven days. The Yemit Boys fire disaster happened just hours after Ortum Boys High School reported a similar incident.
