Kenyans are in shock as a primary school teacher is arrested for misbehavior, literally shocking 15 students in the office of the deputy head teacher, who is in charge of discipline.
Police have arrested a teacher of a local primary school for allegedly molesting 15 students. Alleging that the teacher acted in the deputy headmaster’s office, parents are now threatening to transfer their students if the suspect is not transferred from the school.
This morning (Saturday, March 12), parents stood up after learning about the indecent behavior of one of the teachers at the school, a man they trusted for their children.
It is alleged that Kiswahili and science teachers are poaching youths in the school and threatening to punish them if they report their actions. In tears, the boys recounted the test of sodomy at the hands of their teacher.
14-year-old John (not his real name) who is in seventh grade gives a sad account of how he fell into her clutches. He says that teachers keep him in the deputy headmaster’s office in the morning or on weekends.
Salome (not her real name) is the mother of one of the victims. He says that he is mentally disturbed by these incidents.
She has vowed never to go back to the same school after her child was tortured. The parent fears that more victims may be afraid to come out because of his threats.
However, she has accused the school administration of trying to hide the matter as they had filed some cases last time but no action was taken.
They want the police and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to expedite the investigation and intervene, saying that the transfer of teachers will lead to increased behavior in other schools.
Our efforts to get a comment from the education and police officials were in vain as they did not respond to calls and neither were they in the office when we sought their comments. A report has been lodged in Butere police station in this matter.
After this teacher service commission should take up this matter and discipline this teacher who is now a beast to our students
