Schools, parents and learners are shocked after the Kenyan government made sudden changes to the competency-based curriculum.
The government has announced that junior high school education will be conducted only in prestigious Kenyan day schools spread across the country and not in boarding schools.
This mega-pronunciation essentially means that students who transition to junior high school under CBC will only be assigned to attend day school, not boarding school.
The government further said that the study of junior high school will be in secondary schools only and not in primary schools, as per previous allegations.
“Students who transition to junior high school under the aptitude-based curriculum will study in day school and not in boarding school. However, the junior high school will be in the existing secondary schools and not in the primary schools, ”the government said.
