TSC has written to KUCCPS with the following key proposal to the Bachelor of Education Degree.
1. The course shall take 5 and half years.
-the first 4 years a teacher trainee shall cover content in his/her area of specialization.
– 5th year teacher trainee shall take professional course.
– Teaching practice shall be for two terms (6 months)- This will take place after the 5th year.
2. A student wishing to pursue a degree must have the following minimum qualification according to TSC.
A. B- In the teaching subjects at KCSE
B. C plain in English and mathematics.

Even though this are proposals awaiting approval by Universities, those of us who are parents or/and charged with the responsibility of guiding our Sons’ and Daughters’ career choices should take caution especially on the minimum entry requirements.
As this shall go along way to avoid avoid frustration upon graduation and at the point of seeking employment
