The Teachers Service Commission is the one that handles every issue related to hiring as well as dismissal of teachers with the headquarters located in Nairobi County.
This morning, teachers got some good news from the body which is in charge of all matters related to their maternity leave, which has been a matter of controversy for some time.
According to a reliable source, the Chief Executive Officer of the Teachers Service Commission, Dr Nancy Macharia, the changes have come into effect on the maternity leave given to both male and female teachers across the country.
Dr. Nancy Macharia has announced that women working as teachers in the country will get maternity leave of up to four months before resuming their duties.
On the other hand, their male counterparts have been granted a modest three week maternity leave, before which they can go back to their schools.
