The Teacher Service Commission, TSC has announced that after the parliamentary approval of the budget of 2022/2023, teachers in six job groups will get salary increase along with the outstanding amount.
According to the new guidelines of TSC, teachers of B5, C1, C2, C3 and D5 grades will not get salary increase due to Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) 2017-2021 which has not captured them.
The TSC says teachers have reached their maximum pay point, known as the “bar” and therefore it is not possible to move upwards in their salaries.
A portion of the reference document reads, “With the completion of the cycle for CBA 2017-2021, the maximum pay points provided in bending have reached B5, C1, C2, C3 and D5”.
On the other hand, teachers of grades C4, C5, D1, D2, D3, and D4 who have not achieved the maximum salary points provided in the salary bending will get their salary increase.
TSC says it will extend pay points for this grade from July 1, 2020. The best part is that TSC will pay teachers their salary extra from the date they receive the maximum pay point.
