Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has banned manual replacement of damaged or lost registration certificates for registered teachers.
TSC CEO Dr Nancy Macharia said yesterday that the move is part of the 2019 – 2023 Strategic Plan aimed at increasing efficiency in service delivery to teachers across the country.
The TSC 2019–2023 Strategic Plan identified improvement and innovation in the provision of teaching services as its strategic focus areas to improve service delivery to its employees and stakeholders.
One of the key areas in which TSC has successfully improved as per the strategic plan is the transfer of services related to replacement of lost registration certificates for teachers on online platforms.
Lost or damaged certificate can now be done completely through online portal on TSC website. Teachers can apply for such certificates only online and the commission has said that no manual application can be accepted.
TSC has started moving many services on its online platform from 2019 to improve service delivery to teachers and avoid overcrowding in TSC offices.
Some services have been shifted from manual to online including leave application, transfer application and teacher employment process.
The Teacher Registration Certificate containing the details of the teacher such as TSC number, mane, among others is issued by the commission to the teachers after the registration which acts as a proof for the registration.
TSC CEO Dr Macharia also announced to the public that many teacher registration certificates have been returned to TSC Headquarters.
Therefore, the Commission urged those whose names are there in the list given in the portal, they can obtain their registration certificate from the TSC Head Office located at Upper Hill in Nairobi.
“The certificates of registration of the following applicants have been returned by the post office to the TSC Headquarters. Applicants are advised to obtain certificates from TSC Headquarters, TSC House, Quality Assurance & Standards.
The check list of returned certificates can be checked through the TSC website https://www.tsc.go.ke/.
