All county directors have been instructed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to make sure that 5 percent of the current job openings are reserved for hiring teachers with disabilities.
According to a statement from the commission, “The Commission shall ensure that 5 percent of all the advertised slots are reserved for the recruitment of teachers with disabilities in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Law.”
Affirmative action is a step taken by the employer to make sure that all candidates, regardless of their condition, are treated fairly during the recruitment process.
Apart from setting aside five percent of the recruitment slots, the teachers’ employer also gives priority to an applicant’s disability to break a tie during county selection process.
Also take note that teachers with disabilities use a different score sheet as shown below;

Also note that the marks for length of stay after graduation has been reduced by a big margin.

Individuals who have evidence on a co-curricular certificate of participation will also stand higher chances of scoring more marks.
Co-curricular certificate is very crucial when it comes to breaking of ties.
