The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has firmly announced that it will not give up its stand regarding the admission requirements for those who wish to join the teaching service.

The commission was of the view that from September this year, universities should start offering this program which will take three years along with one year for PGD.
This means that in the near future, the commission will register and appoint teachers only after successful completion of a professional postgraduate diploma.
The proposed policy framework will have an entry grade in BA or BSc, Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean (KCSE) grade of WB- (minus) and an average grade of C+ in the three teaching subjects.
